Brothers Against Guns was birthed out of the tragic loss of Tracy Richard, Shawn Richard's younger brother on Easter Sunday April 16, 1995; then four years later his other brother Keointe Dean was killed February 28, 1999.
As a result, Shawn knew something had to be done, hence the formation of BROTHERS AGAINST GUNS.
Our purpose and mission has been clear since the beginning: Prevent youth violence and incarceration by providing education and recreational services that meet vulnerable youth at their point of need.
